Art Create Learn invites emerging and established artists to participate in our monthly online art contests and Cover Art Contest. Each theme is open to your own creative interpretation. You are welcome to submit artwork from your existing portfolio or create something new. We welcome artwork in all visual media, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, fibre art, mixed media, digital art, ceramics, collage, and more.

Art Create Learn is proud to support artists in Windsor-Essex while welcoming submissions from artists across Canada and beyond.

Theme: Passages & Portals
Our 2026 themes explore ideas of growth, transition, memory, and transformation. Artists are invited to interpret each theme in their own way. We encourage personal, emotional, symbolic, and visual responses.
Cover Art Contest: Passages & Portals
Extended Deadline — September 17
Explore moments of transition, crossing, transformation, and change. A passage can be physical, emotional, spiritual, or imagined. A portal can represent a doorway, memory, possibility, discovery, or a shift in perspective.
Open to all media.

One entry fee covers up to three artworks.
Non-Members: $35 CAD
Artist Members: $25 CAD

The selected cover artist receives:

Explore spaces, moments, and experiences that exist between one state and another.

Deadline: extended to September 7, 2026
Explore connections between different realities, perspectives, ideas, or experiences that exist alongside each other.
Echoes
Deadline: September 20, 2026
Explore memories, impressions, repetition, and the ways images, sounds, and sensations continue to influence us.
Monthly Online Art Contest Entry Fees
Submit up to 3 artworks for one monthly theme.
One entry fee covers up to three artworks.
Non-Members: $15 CAD
Artist Members: $10 CAD

Artists may participate in one or multiple contests. Membership is not required to enter. Artist Members receive discounted entry fees. Art Create Learn reserves the right to decline submissions that are inappropriate or do not meet our submission guidelines. Please review our Terms of Service before submitting.
