A Refreshing Start to 2024: Social Gathering at Souq Lebanese Grill

On Saturday, January 6th, 2024, we gathered for our first get-together of the year at Souq Lebanese Grill in Windsor. Although this restaurant is relatively new, it has already earned the 2023 TripAdvisor Traveller Choice Award.

Who attended? It was a diverse group, including Gulnaz Turdalieva, Katrina Rutter (Beatnik Art Supplies Store), Bruce Rutter, Carole Turner, Anna Buckie, Deborah Kloos, Suzanna Konyha, and our newly listed artist member, Cigdem Gunner (CG Design Atelier).

We had a wonderful time chatting and enjoying the delicious Lebanese food at Souq. It was nice to catch up after the busy holiday season.

Reflecting on our Fall 2023 issue, which focused on the environment and art, Deborah Kloos floated an inspiring idea for a future art contest centred around creating art pieces from recycled materials. Deborah, your suggestion is noted, and we're actively considering this additional contest concept. Thank you for the creative inspiration!

Our conversation also revolved around the upcoming Spring issue of Art Create Learn Magazine. Regarding our Spring 2024 issue, the theme will be "Artistic Renewal: Embracing the Colours of Change." The Cover Art Contest will run once again, inviting artists to participate by capturing the essence of spring's renewal in their artwork. Reflect the vibrant creativity and evolving colours of change. Winning entries will be featured on the cover of our Spring issue. Details about the contest and submission guidelines will be shared soon.

In short, our January meet-up was great. We're all looking forward to our next gathering in February and trying out another great restaurant in Windsor. Here's to a fantastic 2024 filled with art, camaraderie, and memorable experiences!
