Leona MacIntyre

Visual Artist & Educator

Leona MacIntyre is a self-taught visual artist who relocated to Windsor from the East Coast, almost 30 years ago. Her artistic journey began as a form of stress reduction and her first love is working in watercolours.

Leona's work primarily focuses on landscapes, seascapes and natural setttings. In her "ugly Art Studio" Leona develops and delivers beginner workshops in both watercolour and acrylic mediums, using a limited palette and simple design processes. She invites her students to join her in "Stress Free Play" as they explore their simple design processes and their personal creative journeys.

:Leona is a founding member and current Executive Director of The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Windsor Essex County, a membership-based volunteer led organization serving the needs of arts and cultural workers in the region. The Arts & Cultural Alliance delivers community programming and special events to members, seniors and youth.
