Bobbi (Barbara) Wagner – Visual Artist
True to the Impressionist style, Bobbi Wagner’s paintings are evocative of time, place, and mood.
In her artist statement, she says:
“I am a colourist, and my focus is largely on plein air painting, in the tradition of the Impressionists. There is nothing I like better than getting up early in the morning and heading out to chase the light. I love to paint water, the sky, and clouds with all the colours that nature creates.
Nothing is more inspirational than a sunrise shedding its early morning light on the landscape, or a sunset filled with the radiant colours caused by the refraction of light. I try to capture the atmosphere and feeling of the day through painting the light and the shadows.
During the winter, I often paint in my studio. I work on developing larger paintings from my small plein airstudies and also work from still-life setups that I create. My favourite still-life subjects are pears and other fruits and vegetables. I love their beautiful colours, organic shapes, and the shadows they cast.”
An award-winning artist, Bobbi Wagner has exhibited her work internationally, and her paintings are held in collections across Canada, the United States, Japan, and Central and South America. Contact: bobbi.art3@gmail.com
