Bobbi (Barbara) Wagner - Visual Artist
True to Impressionist style, Bobbi Wagner’s paintings are evocative of time, place and mood.
In her Artist Statement she says:
“I am a colourist and my focus is largely on plain air painting, in the tradition of the impressionists. There is nothing I like better than getting up early in the morning and heading out to chase the light. I love to paint water, the sky and clouds with all the colours that nature creates.
Nothing is more inspirational than a sunrise shedding its early morning light on the landscape, or a sunset filled with the radian colours caused by the retraction of light. I try to capture the atmosphere and feeling of the day through painting the light and the shadows.
During the winter I often paint in my studio. I work on developing larger paintings from my small plain air studies and work from still life set-ups that I create. My favourite still-life subjects are pears and other fruits and vegetable. I love their beautiful colours, organic shapes and the shadows they cast.”
An award winning artist, Bobbi Wagner has exhibited her artistic creations internationally and her work is in collections across Canada, in the United States, Japan, Central and South America.
