Promise, mixed media on canvas, 36” x 48”
The Monarch Butterfly represents strength, transformation and rebirth. In some cultures it is a spiritual representation of the souls of our ancestors or hope for an afterlife. In any regard, the mystery of its life cycle and metamorphosis continues to be an inspiration to many and a sign of new beginnings.

Listen, acrylic on four 40” x 40” canvases
Four fish from the four directions of Canada, (Chinook Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Atlantic Cod, Arctic Char) unite together to discuss current water and environmental issues. They are symbolic of the need for us to remember that we are all part of creation and responsible for its well being. We need to speak with and listen to each other in order to find healing and solutions.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Grey vs. Green, photography
I found these opposing surfaces quite interesting. The green of the tree screams nature, growth, renewal. The cold grey of the concrete, so indicative of human development. Polar opposites in the man versus nature war. What was interesting to me was that the reflection in the glass of the windows appears to bind the two together. In this instance, nature has the edge in the battle.

Ocean Calm, photography
On a trip to the east coast, my husband and I stopped along this rocky shore. The ocean has always been a place of calm for me. Collecting rocks and stones is something I have done since childhood. Building this tiny cairn on the shore came instinctively. It was my tribute to the ocean, a thank you for the time I spent there.

One With Nature
Gel Plate Print & Mixed Media, 8”x10”
There is a relationship between the figure and the botanical imagery in this work. It evokes peace, calm, and tranquility. We can live in nature and be caretakers. Living in and go out into nature is fuel for our soul. The overlapping of the vine with the figure represents that union.

Ojibway Park in Autumn, watercolour, 9" x 12"
This was the first plein air painting I ever did at Ojibway Nature Centre. I didn’t think much of it and stored it away until my husband found it many years later and framed it for me as a surprise.
