Kathleen Pistor - Visual Artist

Kathleen Pistor is a Windsor and McGregor Bay, Ontario–based representational artist whose deep connection to Northern Ontario continues to shape her work. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, she developed an early love for the North that remains central to her artistic vision.

Holding a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Arts from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education specializing in Visual Arts from the University of Western Ontario, Kathleen devoted 37 years to teaching Visual Arts and Art History. Throughout her career, she encouraged students to explore diverse styles and mediums while cultivating their own creative voices.

Her own practice spans a range of subjects and techniques, yet she is best known for her expressive watercolour and acrylic interpretations of the Georgian Bay landscape, created in both miniature and large-scale formats. A member of the Canadian Federation of Artists and the Association of Representational Artists Windsor, Kathleen has earned recognition in numerous juried exhibitions.

Her accolades include 1st place for Acrylic Painting at the La Cloche Juried Art Show, Best Waterscape at Paint Ontario for For the Love of Georgian Bay, and multiple People’s Choice Awards at the Perivale Gallery’s annual In the Spirit of Tom Thomson exhibition. Her work has also been featured in Northern tourism promotions and exhibited widely across Ontario.

In addition to painting, Kathleen is an accomplished jewellery designer, working as a silversmith and coppersmith and creating beaded pieces from precious and semi-precious stones.
