Je Reviens - I Remember, Watercolour on paper, 10'‘ 1/2 x 14”. I found a pencil drawing, in an old sketch book from my days at Ontario College of Arts, of this little bird woman and the prose beneath it. I remembered I had drawn her and written the prose after I had visited the tiny park created from the ruins of an old church that had burned down just a half block from school. Nothing remained but the bell tower and the columns. It was April , school was over , things were beginning to grown again. Years later I decided to turn it into an illustration. I wrote the church and received a photo of the ruins and painted two copies. One I gave to my son for his birthday which is March 21. He chose his favourite .

New Beginnings, watercolour and gouache on paper, 7 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches. This is a small painting I did out my window during the 2020 lockdowns. Our old poplar had been cut down leaving the stump. Now we could see into our neighbour’s backyard. But at the same time in 2021 I noticed ivy had grown over the stump and the baby cedars my neighbour planted had grown a bit and their hawthorn tree was now in bloom making the whole scene prettier.
